Some decisions this week from the League and Club to share around a potential abbreviated season for 2021:
- Props – practices would start the week of March 15
- League – Games commence April 17 and conclude by May 22
- Props Club Board decision – No end of year picnic
- Props Club Board decision – No tournament teams this season
Pasting back in some of the points shared below directly via e-mails to parents:
- Return to Play Guidelines – have shared our Clubs “Return to Play” guidelines and how we are positioned to manage practices or team activities this season based on current restrictions mandated by the City/County/State governments.
- Uniforms – again, in a cost reduction move which will allow dues to be reduced for 2021 we are asking families to recycle uniforms issues from the 2020 season.
- We will provide uniforms for new families
- It’s also expected that we may need to support size changes for kids and would make those based on availability out of our current back stock
- We’d then ask the families needing new sizing to hand their jersey’s back in and potentially shorts if in good condition
- This will allow the most flexibility to outfit the kids with proper uniforms this year
- Equipment – keep in mind what was stated below about potential discounts at the vendors we know and trust.
- Also, if you child needs new shoulder pads – for 2022 season there will be a mandate for kids playing in the field (non-goalies) to have the latest NOCSAE approved padding to help prevent myocarditis
- Discount pads from prior years will not have this critical piece of safety gear
- Most if not all new padding available for this season will meet the standard
- Goalies need the latest chest protectors for 2021 season which the club already invested in
- Also, if you child needs new shoulder pads – for 2022 season there will be a mandate for kids playing in the field (non-goalies) to have the latest NOCSAE approved padding to help prevent myocarditis
- Volunteers – will need additional parent support this year at the beginning of practices to help track return to play guidelines – temperature checks, tracking documents, social distancing on the sidelines, etc.
- Coaches will not be able to manage this by themselves
- We’ll make a call out to parents for support and volunteer schedules for each team as we get closer
- Club Board – if you have any interest in joining the Club Board or helping out please reach out to me directly so we can have a conversation – we also have groups that help manage equipment so those are also options to jump in and help.
- Coaching – if you have experience with lacrosse or are just interested in getting involved as a Coach please also reach out to me directly
- We have particular need this year at the Grade 3/4 group
Again, please reach out with any questions directly via the contact form.
